Digging through the terabytes of footage from last week’s LA productions, we get to the main reason MP made its way up to Lala Land — DJ HAPA’s 30th Birthday. His celebration was two fold. First Hapa celebrated his birthday at The Bridge, a monthly congregation of DJs and industry cats at Rehab Records / Scratch LA. The following morning Hapa cut cake with family and friends atop Hotel Erwin in beautiful Venice Beach, CA.
Prior to the event @DJ4tify asked MP if we could set up a live-feed of the DJ’s POV for guests in the lounge area of The Bridge to watch. Using our resources and wit we threw up a GoPro Hero HD that streamed live — AWESOME!
The event was CRACKIN’! DJ Hapa threw down some damn-good jams. He was accompanied by live drummers as well as DJ talent that encapsulated the full spectrum of good music: @VER5E , @justMATTER , @DJshakee , @DJ4tify , @DJwarrior [to name a few]. MP was well taken care of and STOKED to be a part of something so dope.
This group of heavy hitters wasn’t new to partying RIGHT; which became apparent to MP the next morning, cause we we’re HURTIN’! Nonetheless we were resuscitated back to life by the warm glow of the Cali sun, mimosas, an omelet station, and a 360 view of Venice Beach from the rooftop of MP’s new favorite spot, Hotel Erwin. We toasted and cut cake in honor of Hapa hitting that big 3-0. It was an honor to meet his family and friends on that level. MP could not be more appreciative of the hospitality and professionalism provided by Hapa, 4tify, and crew. These people are homies and know how to run the game. MP hopes to follow suit. Respect.
